The 12th Annual KTVE-KARD Christmas Cheer Food Drive is underway!
 
The food drive begins on Monday, October 29, 2012
and runs through Thursday, December 6th at 3:00pm!!
 
This year’s goal is to collect 85,000 pounds of food!

All food collected will be distributed by the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana
to feed area families in need this holiday season.
 
For your convenience, food grab bags and donation coupons will be on sale
at these Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods stores:
Monroe, West Monroe, Bastrop, Bastrop & Rayville store locations
 
 You are also invited to drop off non-perishable food items to participating stores.
 
Pepsi, Taco Bell and Frito Lay are offering big cash incentives to area schools
as they compete to beat hunger in northeast Louisiana.

Cash prizes will be awarded in elementary, junior high and high school divisions
 for a Combined Total of $9000 in Cash Prizes!
 
1st Place winning schools receive $1,250 Cash Prizes from Pepsi.
2nd Place winners will be awarded $1,000 Cash Prizes from Taco Bell.
3rd Place winners receive $750 Cash Prizes from Frito Lay.


In order to keep all schools on the same playing field,
winning schools will be based on weight of food per student.

All food collected will be picked up & delivered to the Food Bank by Pepsi and Frito Lay.

A live broadcast of the final weigh-in will be held at the Food Bank on Thursday, December 6th.

Christmas Cheer Food Drive 2012 Contest Rules

OFFICIAL CONTESTANT RULES & REGULATIONS


KTVE-KARD Christmas Cheer Food Drive 2012

Contest Dates: The contest begins Oct. 29, 2012 and ends Dec. 6, 2012 at 3pm. All non-perishable food item donations from area schools must be received by 3:30pm on Dec. 6, 2012 All times are Central Daylight Time.

Contest entry: The competition is open to area schools in the following 12 northeast Louisiana parishes: Ouachita, Lincoln, Union, East Carroll, West Carroll, Morehouse, Tensas, Jackson, Caldwell, Franklin, Richland and Madison. The cash prizes are provided by Pepsi, Taco Bell and Frito lay. The winning schools will be determined by weight of food per student. Only non-perishable food items will be weighed for the competition. Bottled water will not be recognized as non-perishable food items when weighing in each school’s total poundage of food items collected. Schools with more than one division are responsible for labeling and separating collected food items by division in order to compete for cash prizes in their individual divisions. Cash prizes for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners will be awarded in elementary, junior high and high school divisions. First place winning schools will each be awarded a $1,250 cash prize from Pepsi; Second place winning schools will each be awarded a $1,000 cash prize from Taco Bell; Third place winning schools will each be awarded a $750 cash prize from Frito Lay. The classes that collect the highest number of canned food items from each first place winning school division will be awarded a Taco Bell party in January 2013. Each 1st place winning school is responsible for determining the winning class that collects the highest number of canned food items. Specific dates of Taco Bell parties to be determined by winning schools and Taco Bell. All participants must be legal U.S. residents. No purchase is necessary. Only qualifying schools may be awarded cash prizes. The following classes of persons are ineligible to receive cash prizes: a) Employees, officers and directors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of sponsors: Pepsi, Taco Bell, Frito Lay, Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, and their associated business interest, other related sponsors, KTVE /KARD, Myarklamiss.com and their affiliate companies, subsidiaries, and promotions agencies, and any and all other companies associated with this contest.

Information obtained through this contest will be used for future marketing opportunities by all parties listed. By participating in the contest you are giving all parties involved in the contest the right to market your information.

Contest Requirements: Those ineligible to participate & receive cash prizes in the contest are: Employees, officers and directors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of Pepsi, Taco Bell, Frito Lay, Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods Stores, and their associated business interest, other related sponsors, KTVE, KARD, Myarklamiss.com and their affiliate companies, subsidiaries, and promotions agencies, and any and all other companies associated with this contest. If the winner is found in violation of these rules, he/she may be required to forfeit his/her prize. Sponsors, KTVE, KARD & Myarklamiss.com reserve the right to refuse awarding the prize to any person or contestant who is determined to have violated the official contest rules, gained unfair advantage in participating in the contest. This contest is void where prohibited. Sponsors, KTVE, KARD and Myarklamiss.com may amend these rules at any time and reserve the right to discontinue the contest, the taking of additional entries or the participation by any particular station, market or sponsor.

Winning: The final weigh-in of non-perishable food items collected by participating schools will be held at the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Winning schools will be contacted on or around Friday, December 7, 2012, by phone or email. Odds of participating schools winning the cash prizes are based solely on weight of food per student..

Prizes: Cash prizes for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners will be awarded in elementary, junior high and high school divisions. First place winning schools will each be awarded a $1,250 cash prize from Pepsi; Second place winning schools will each be awarded a $1,000 cash prize from Taco Bell; Third place winning schools will each be awarded a $750 cash prize from Frito Lay. The cash prizes will be awarded within approximately two weeks of verification of the contest requirements. As the cash prize winners, participating schools acknowledge that sponsors, KTVE/KARD and Myarklamiss.com have the right to publicize your name, photograph and the fact that you are the winner(s) for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

By accepting a prize, each winner agrees to release and hold harmless the sponsors, KTVE, KARD, Myarklamiss.com and its parent, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and their respective directors, officers, employees representatives, agents and the participating sponsors from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to person, including death, and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, participation in any contest activity, or participation in this contest.

Claiming Prizes: Prizes will be awarded in an awards ceremony to be held at the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana the week of December 10, 2012. Specific date(s) to be determined by KTVE-KARD. For the name of the winning schools of the 2012 KTVE-KARD Christmas Cheer Food Drive, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to KTVE-KARD, Attention: Christmas Cheer Food Drive Winners, 200 Pavilion Rd., West Monroe, LA 71292.
