Another Ark-La-Miss teacher is in hot water after a father finds a sexually explicit text message on his daughter’s cell phone.
Police arrested a Marion High School teacher, for sending an inappropriate text message to one of his students.
Marion Police arrested 25-year-old Paul Jameson Friday. He is a math teacher at Marion High School. Jameson reportedly sent a sexually explicit text message to one of his 16- year-old students on Valentines Day.
When the students father discovered the message, he called police.
"He was pretty upset,” said Marion assistant Police Chief Orville Doster. “You can only imagine if your daughter or son comes home with a sexually explicit text message from someone whom you believe is an adult."
Jameson was booked in the Union Parish Detention Center and charged with computer-aided solicitation of a minor. He was later released after posting $ 15,000 bond.
Police say this was only Jamesons first year teaching at the school. So obviously people in town arent happy with his performance.
Joe Christopher’s 17-year-old daughter attends Marion High School. He says, “I think its pretty sick that he doing this at school or anywhere else, to be 25 and she 16 especially."
Glenn Aulds is a business owner in Marion. He says, “You send your children there, you trust these people to make your childrens lives better, to educate them, in this case its a math teacher and thats not what supposed to be done.”
Devin Wayne has two daughters attending Marion. She says the teachers actions are unacceptable. “He should be in a role model position. Hes supposed to be a leader and set an example for those kids and hes up there doing that type of behavior and its unacceptable."
Paul Jameson has resigned from his teaching job at Marion High School. He is facing a felony charge and if convicted he could go to prison.
Repeated phone calls to Marion High principal Nikki Cranford were not returned.
