Summer Heat Safety Tips

Darrell Brinson runs on average 8 miles a day for 14 years. Even after more than a decade of running in the sun Brinson says hes careful in the heat. He said, "If you can avoid this sunshine thats really good, stay in the shade." Professional lawn service men agree. Ryan Higgins, "If you can find time to sit under a shade tree for a while just kick back and relax." Higgins says the heats just too hot not to take a break. He said, "June through August its especially hot and it can reach up to 103, 104 heat index and thats just tremendously hot." June with heat-related cases, only to increase this month. "Its pretty intense sometimes," Higgins said. Here are some tips to stay safe: -Wear light, loose clothing -Take frequent breaks -Wet washclothes around neck -Outdoor fans -Sunscreen -Stay hydrated!! Brinson said, "Sport drinks are really for recovery water is good for when youre working out."
