Jindal Announces Millions Approved for North La. Construction Projects

BATON ROUGE - On Friday, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that millions of dollars for North Louisiana projects were approved by the Bond Commission after his administration recommended them for funding. 

In total, the approved projects include over $62 million in support for higher education throughout Louisiana. Since 2008, the Jindal administration has supported more than $700 million dollars in critical higher education infrastructure investments across the state, including more than $225 million for Louisiana Community and Technical College campuses.
 
North Louisiana projects approved by the State Bond Commission include:
 
         $5 million in Priority 2 funding for Bayou Dechene Reservoir, Planning, Land Acquisition and Construction in Caldwell Parish with an additional $12 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $17 million;
         $1.3 million in Priority 2 funding for Jimmie Davis Bridge Rehabilitation, Planning and Construction in Bossier and Caddo Parishes with an additional $9.2 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $10.5 million;
         $1 million in Priority 2 funding for Children's Hospital at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, Renovation and Expansion, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish with an additional $9 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $10 million;
         $2 million in Priority 2 funding for new Classroom Building at Southern University  Shreveport, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish with an additional $3.8 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $5.8 million;
         $350,000 in Priority 2 funding for High Voltage Electrical Distribution System Upgrade at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish with an additional $5.05 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $5.4 million;
         $1 million in Priority 2 funding for Plainview Road Rehabilitation, Planning and Construction in Sabine Parish with an additional $3 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $4 million;
         $300,000 in Priority 2 funding for Patient Care HVAC Replacement at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish with an additional $2.7 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $3 million;
         $300,000 in Priority 2 funding for Water Distribution System Repairs and Improvements at Louisiana Tech University in Lincoln Parish with an additional $2.65 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $2.95 million;
         $500,000 in Priority 2 funding for Natchitoches Parish Emergency Communications Center, Planning and Construction in Natchitoches Parish with an additional $1.9 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $2.4 million;
         $200,000 in Priority 2 funding for Louisiana State Exhibit Museum, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish with an additional $1.8 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $2 million;
         $500,000 in Priority 2 funding for Mississippi River Levee Raising, Arkansas to Old River, Planning and Construction in Avoyelles, Concordia, East Carroll, Madison, Pointe Coupee, Tensas Parish with an additional $1.5 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $2 million;
         $670,000 in Priority 2 funding for Railroad Spur for the Columbia Port Commission, Planning and Construction in Caldwell Parish with an additional $1.34 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $1.974 million;
         $250,000 in Priority 2 funding for Parish Detention Facility, Planning and Construction in Caldwell Parish with an additional $1.37 million in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $1.620 million;
         $100,000 in Priority 2 funding for Water System Improvements and Extension at Waterworks District #1, Planning and Construction in De Soto Parish with an additional $965,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $1.065 million;
         $1 million in future Priority 5 funding for South Natchitoches Drainage Improvements, including Adjacent Roadwork, Planning and Construction in Natchitoches Parish;
         $900,000 in future Priority 5 funding for Winnsboro Campus of Delta Community College, Acquisition, Planning, and Construction in Franklin Parish;
         $600,000 in Priority 2 funding for Water Distribution System Expansion, LA 810 Extension, Planning and Construction in Jackson Parish with an additional $200,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $800,000;
         $390,000 in Priority 2 funding for Hwy. 71 Street Lighting Project from LA 3032 (Westgate Drive) to LA 511 (Jimmie Davis Hwy), Planning and Construction in Bossier City with an additional $390,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $780,000;
         $700,000 in Priority 2 funding to Reconstruct Natchitoches Parish Council on Aging Activities Building, Planning and Construction in Natchitoches Parish;
         $635,000 in Priority 2 funding for Stubbs Hall Reroofing, Planning and Construction at University of Louisiana Monroe in Ouachita Parish;
         $600,000 in Priority 2 funding for HVAC Repairs in Caddo Hall, Planning and Construction at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches Parish;
         $535,000 in Priority 2 funding for Old River Bridge, Planning and Construction in Natchitoches Parish;
         $215,000 in Priority 2 funding for Potable Water Ground Storage Tank in Minden, Planning and Construction in Webster Parish with an additional $320,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $535,000;
         $500,000 in Priority 2 funding for Visual Arts Building Renovation for Business, Planning and Construction at Louisiana Tech University in Lincoln Parish;
         $150,000 in Priority 2 funding for Conversion of Gym into Multipurpose Facility in Heflin, Planning and Construction in Webster Parish with an additional $335,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $485,000;
         $100,000 in Priority 2 funding for Wastewater Collection System Improvements in Sibley, Planning and Construction in Webster Parish with an additional $365,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $465,000;
         $200,000 in Priority 2 funding for Bastrop Central Fire Station, Replace Driveway City Hall, Roof Construction, Planning and Construction in Morehouse Parish with an additional $250,000 in future Priority 5 funding for a total investment of $450,000;
         $425,000 in Priority 2 funding for Highway 538 Water Line Extension in Oil City, Planning and Construction in Caddo Parish;
         $400,000 in Priority 2 funding
