Low Application Turn-Out for MCSB Superintendent

The Monroe City School Superintendent Search Committee met
again Tuesday morning to resolve some unfinished business.
The meeting was far different than the meeting earlier this month, when only one committee member decided to show up.
Tuesday we learned that the school district has received one application to replace Kathleen Harris as Superintendent,that application was not sent through certified mail so the name of that applicant is not being released.
The committee members also agreed on the roles and responsibilities of the screening committee. That committee will help select a new Superintendent.
Some of those responsibilities include screening and reviewing all applications, evaluate qualifications, and call references and other persons who could speak on candidates character.
No decision was made on if the screening committee would consist of 21 or 15 people.
The search committee will start meeting with applicants on January 10th.
The next school board meeting will be on Tuesday, December 4th.
All board members must have their recommendations for the screening committee at that meeting.
The last day for Superintendent application is December 14th.
