Monroe and Ouachita parish officials are celebrating the completion of the second phase of improvements at Monroe Regional Airport.
Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo cut the ribbon with many of the project supporters on hand this afternoon.
The new facility is complete with 2 new baggage claim carousels.
Airport director Ron Phillips says this is not the end of projects at Monroe's airport as a fire station is in the plans as well as upgrades to the entrance way into the airport.
The Monroe Regional Airport now also features a wall honoring all the men who trained at Selman Field as part of what is now known as the Air Force.
