El Dorado Murder Suspect First Appearance in Court

47-year-old Joe Perry is charged with first degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Jeremy Thompson.

According to El Dorado Police, Perry shot Thompson at a home on 810 East Beech Street on Friday night.

Police aren't releasing a motive at this time and say they are still piecing together what happened.

 "They were all at a function together. There were a large number of people that were actually at this residence both inside and outside when the disturbance and the actual shooting took place." 

Bond will be set on Wednesday, after Perry requested to speak to his attorney privately before proceeding any further.
