Monroe Police Investigating Home Invasion

MONROE -- Monroe police are investigating what is believed to be a home invasion robbery.
The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. on the 3800 block of Bayside Circle.
According to police, the homeowner heard a knock at the door, and as the victim opened the door, two African-American males in masks and armed with firearms invaded the home demanding money.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash at gunpoint and fled the scene.
A license plate was obtained on the get-away vehicle led investigators to a home on Colonial Drive.
The investigation led detectives to the home, located just just outside Monroe city limits.
Police say the two subjects are in police custody for questioning. No arrests have been made at this time.
This case is still under investigation.
