A prosecutor drops murder charges against the father of five-year-old Anna Celeste Lowe, and the victim's mother wants to know why.
Wesley Lowe was charged with negligent homicide after his daughter died from internal injuries and bleeding in January 2011.
Last week Bossier District Attorney Schuyler Marvin dropped the charges.
The child's mother is not happy and says this comes as a complete surprise.
"I am extremely appalled and blindsided. No one had called me to discuss anything. I just spoke to my victim advocate on Thursday and nothing had been said, so this does not set well with me at all."
In November, step-mother Catherine Lowe pled guilty to manslaughter in the child's death and is scheduled to be sentenced December 18.
The Lowe's took the child to the emergency room, but medical personnel said the girl had been dead at least two hours.
