Christmas Cheer Food Drive Donations Exceed 90,000 Pounds

The 12TH Annual KTVE-KARD Christmas Cheer Food Drive was a great success with
77,987 total pounds of food collected from 51 area schools that competed for big cash prizes. Pepsi and Frito Lay delivered the food to the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana for distribution to those in need this holiday season. Area Brookshire's and Super 1 Foods stores awarded the Food Bank a $3,252 check from customer donations, plus donated 12,732 pounds of food.
1st place winning schools to be awarded $1,250 cash prizes by Pepsi include:
) Quest Elementary ) Grace Episcopal Jr. High ) Ouachita Christian High
2nd place winners to be awarded $1,000 cash prizes from Taco Bell include:
) Grace Episcopal Elementary ) Ouachita Christian Jr. High ) Dubach High
3rd place winners to be awarded $750 cash prizes from Frito Lay include:
) Jesus the Good Shepherd ) Grambling Middle ) Neville High
Winning schools were determined by weight of food per student.
Taco Bell will also be awarding Taco Bell parties to the top classes that collected the most cans of food in the 1st place divisions.
The 12th Annual KTVE-KARD Christmas Cheer Food Drive was sponsored by Pepsi,
Taco Bell, Frito Lay, Brookshire's and Super 1 Foods. All food collected goes to feed those in need in the twelve parishes of northeast Louisiana.
