State Police say a 2010 Ford Fusion, driven by 25-year-old Michael Hubbard of Shreveport, was traveling east on Interstate 20 when it crossed the median and hit a 2000 Kenworth Conventional 18-wheeler traveling west on Interstate 20, driven by 41-year-old David Alday of Juarez, Mexico.
Hubbard suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office. Two passengers in the Ford Fusion, 25-year-old Andrew Perkins of Shreveport and 23-year-old Jarde Miller of Bossier City, were transported with critical injuries to a hospital in Shreveport. A third passenger in the Ford Fusion, a minor, was transported to a hospital in Ruston with moderate injuries. Alday was wearing his seat belt and did not report any injuries.
Impairment is not suspected on the part of Alday. The crash remains under investigation.
