Police: Man Robs Couple, Begins Car Chase With Victims Near Calhoun

OUACHITA PARISH -- A man is in jail for aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated assault near Calhoun. This, after police say he engaged in a car chase with the victims and rammed into their vehicles.
The pictures were sent in to us from a viewer who passed by the scene, as police arrest 19-year old Devonte Jackson for aggravated burglary and three counts of aggravated assault with a weapon.
According to the police report, it started at a home near Highway 151 Sunday afternoon. Police say the victim and her husband were in their kitchen when a black male walked in the back door with a pocket knife, demanding money.
The report says the husband gave Jackson $200, but then he also grabbed a knife and demanded the money back. Jackson gave it back, ran out the door and took off in a vehicle.
Police say the victims then chased Jackson in their own vehicles down Highway 80 eastbound , where eventually they boxed him in. The report says Jackson rammed into the victims' vehicle, and took off down Highway 151. He pulled into an area where he got stuck and then fled on foot into the woods.
Police say he was arrested without incident and is now in OCC with a total bond of $47,000.
Police say no injuries were reported.
