MONROE -- A big donation took place Monday morning in Monroe, where 400 local families were given food and other essential items.
It's all due to a partnership between Feed the Children and Ray of Hope Ministries.
The distribution is part of the Americans Feeding Americans Caravan. Since 2009, the caravan has served more than 430-thousand families' nation wide.
Organizers say this was a chance for them to help local families struggling to make ends meet. Each family received a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items.
The boxes are designed to help a family of four for up to one week.
