Suspect Accused of Trying to Set House on Fire

MONROE -- A Monroe man is arrested after police say he tried to set his mothers house on fire.
Monroe police arrested 38 year old Dominique Ellis Sunday night.
According to the arrest report, Ellis was told to leave his mother's house on south Seventh Street Saturday.
He returned Sunday night, poured gasoline on the corner of house and set it on fire *while* there were people inside.
Officers found Ellis sitting in his car outside of the house with a lighter in his hand and no cigarettes.
Ellis is charge with aggravated arson.
