Toyota Recalls More Than 1 Million Vehicles

Listen up, if you drive a Toyota or Lexus.

Toyota says it is recalling more than 1 million vehicles due to defective airbags and faulty windshield wipers.

The automaker announced the recall Wednesday which includes 752,000 Corolla and Corolla Matrix cars sold between 2003 and 2004.  A control module is susceptible to short-circuiting and causing the airbags to inadvertently deploy.

Toyota is also recalling 270,000 Lexus IS models sold between 2006 and 2012.

Company officials say the wiper arm might not be sufficiently tight.  If movement of the wipers is restricted by an external load, such as a buildup of heavy snow on the windshield, one or both of the wipers could become inoperative.

The automaker says it will notify owners affected by its two latest recalls.  You can also reach the company at www.toyota.com/recall and the Toyota Customer Experience Center at (800) 331-4331.

If you own a Lexus, you can visit this website www.lexus.com/recall or call Lexus Customer Satisfaction (800) 255-3987.
