Monroe Fire crews are on the scene of a fire at the Salvation Army storage unit on Hart Street.

The storage unit is used to store donations to the Salvation Army.

The main Salvation Army building was evacuated as a precaution.

Lt. Jerry Williams with the Salvation Army says the building that caught fire is the only one they have for storing donations. He says all donations are a total loss.

They'll need help with donations of clothes and household goods.
