Kisatchie National Forest to Host Bald Eagle Event

Pineville, La. (February 22, 2013) Kisatchie National Forest is hosting an event about Bald Eagles on Sunday, March 3, 2013. This event is free and open to the public. Nationally recognized biologist, conservationist and author David Hancock is the guest speaker. Hancock is known for his work using live streaming video online to help promote and educate children and adults about the importance of wildlife conservation.
This event will include two opportunities to learn more about Bald Eagles. The first part of the event will take place at Tunk's Cypress Inn at 2 p.m. where Hancock will give a presentation called, "The Incredible Bald Eagle." This presentation is geared more toward teens and adults and will last about one hour. The second part of the event will begin at 3 p.m. at the Kincaid Recreation Area (swim beach/picnic area) and is family-friendly. There will be a short guided hike to view the eagles and their nest. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring some bottled water.
