Monroe Man Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery

MONROE -- A Monroe man is in jail after attempting an armed robbery on a local convenience store.
According to the arrest report, George Kennon, 43, notified a Monroe Police dispatcher that he attempted to rob the Kangaroo mart on N. 18th Street.
Police made contact with Kennon at a nearby gas station on Louisville and arrested him. A store employee identified Kennon as the suspect who gave her a note and attempted to take money from her earlier on Sunday.
Kennon was arrested for attempted armed robbery and booked into OCC with a $45,000 bond.
