Sterlington Town Prosecutor Job In Limbo

It looks like the mayor of Sterlington and the towns attorney are locking horns. Now, the fight has left Sterlington temporarily without an attorney. And that attorney could lose his job permanently. Council members are calling this a personnel issue. And say the circumstances are not good. Mayor Vern Breland making the decision that he doesnt want Todd Newman -- the towns attorney -- to work for him anymore. From speeding tickets to trials -- a town attorney wasnt in court today. So folks in Sterlington were given the option of rolling their cases to the next month. Or just have their cases tried without an attorney present. Council members say at this point, they are training a replacement for Newman. But as of now, nothing is definite.
