JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A group of Senate Democrats say Mississippi should accept all of its $2.5 billion share of the federal stimulus package.

About 10 lawmakers from the Senate are urging the chamber's leadership to allow a vote on a resolution that asks Gov. Haley Barbour to not to reject part of the money.

Barbour has said he won't accept more than $50 million for unemployment compensation to part-time workers.

Sen. Robert Jordon, a Greenwood democrat, said Mississippi is too poor a state to turn away any federal funding.
