Ferriday Woman Celebrates 108th Birthday

An Arklamiss woman is about to celebrate a milestone birthday -- 108.
That's right 108.
So - Nbc 10 News went to Ferriday to surprise Susie Jackson on her very special day.
Jackson says the secret to a long life is no alcohol, no cigarettes, and no pork. And loving the Lord. You would think at 108, Jackson would be sick of birthdays, but the Ferriday resident says she loves them.
Jackson is the granddaughter of a slave and has 5 children, 10 grand-children, 12 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great grandkids.
Jackson now lives with her daughter and grandson. She says the key to a wonderful life is loving god and others. Jackson's age has made her a bit of a celebrity. August 17th is officially Susie Scott Jackson day in Ferriday.
