Ronald Pierce lives next door to the home of Kenyetta and Nichelle Miles. Pierce, his wife and their three year old son had just laid down to bed when they heard frantic banging on the front door of their home. What happened next is something that’s left the Pierce family ready to pack up their things and move. “Would you please let me in, please let me in, he finda kill me." Is the sound Ronald Pierce heard early Saturday morning. Ronald Pierce says his neighbor, Nichelle Miles was at his front door pleading for his family’s help. "When I got ready to open the door, pow! pow! pow! It was like she was really begging, she was laying there, she suffered, it just happened." Moments later Nichelle Miles died at a local hospital from gun shot wounds. "When I open the door she was laying right here." Nichelle Miles husband, Kenyatta had spent most of the day with Ronald. He believes the gun fire was the result of a fight between the couple. "I couldnt believe he did it cause he really loved her." No one really knows what happened in the home early Saturday morning that left Nichelle Miles running down the hill, banging on her neighbors door, begging for help." "We fixing to move. It was haunting me to hear tape recorded back and forth in my head, Jackie save me, Jackie save me!" And the brutal attack has kept the Pierce family up for nearly two days now. Ronalds wife, Jackie said, "People say I should have opened my door, I shouldnt have opened my door. I have a three year old son inside, me and my husband." Ronald added, "Never seen murder that close in my life, to witness and see that think about it over and over and over and over to think I could have done something." Jackie and Ronald say they were trying to protect their family but in order to do that, they couldnt open the door. And now they are both left in complete disbelief. "I done had plenty of arguments with my wife but its not worth killing a human being." Nichelle Miles was only 27 years old and married Kenyetta earlier this month. Kenyetta Miles has his first appearance in Union County District Court tomorrow afternoon. Hes facing charges of first degree murder. The Saturday morning shooting is the fourth homicide in Union County in less than two months.
