NBC 10 and Fox 14 broke the news on the air at 6:00 that St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe and Blue Cross Blue Shield have reached a deal to keep St. Francis in the Blue Cross network.

NBC 10 revealed at 5:00 pm that Blue Cross had put a new offer to St. Francis on the table just this week, with the offer to expire at 5:00 pm today.  At 6, we learned exclusively that the two companies had reached a down-to-the-wire agreement.

Over the last few weeks, the companies appeared to have reached a standstill.  St. Francis was demanding more money for its services; Blue Cross did not want to pay the amounts the hospital demanded.  Without an agreement, patients at St. Francis would have lost network coverage from Blue Cross at midnight on January 31.  The deal means Blue Cross patients will continue to pay the lowest network-level cospays and prices at St. Francis.

Stay tuned to NBC 10 and Fox 14 for the latest developments.
