Pot Bust

Around 10:30 this morning, Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Deputies stopped a vehicle for allegedly crossing the center line while entering Interstate 20. When deputies approached the car, reports say, they detected a strong odor of marijuana. The driver consented to a search and police say they found two marijuana cigarettes in the glove compartment. A further search revealed five pounds of suspected marijuana in the trunk. Deputies arrested Padmam Nandakumar and his wife, Raven, charging both with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Both remain behind bars at the Ouachita Correctional Center.
