Get ready to start your engines Northeast Louisiana! A new revolution in racing is set to restart in the Twin Cities.
Monroe's Revolution Park is teaming up with NASCAR to become the newest circuit of the association's "Home Tracks" series.
"We see a lot of value in having our name here," NASCAR Representative Bob Duvall said.
The subdivision of NASCAR has more than 20 tracks across the nation. In the past, most local racers would have to travel cross-country to participate in these races. But with the emergence of this venue, drivers and fans alike have competitve racing right in their backyard.
Track owner Gus Cambell believes that the facility has a chance to be a highlight for the ArkLaMiss.
"This will be the premier racing venue for this part of the country," Cambell said. "I promise you!"
The new facility is set to open for racing, but competition will not be the only action in this track's future.
"We will be doing concerts out here, and flea markets," Cambell said. "I'm going to set the bar pretty high."
Revolution Park's grand opening is slated for May 5, 2012.
