While most of us enjoyed a relaxed Memorial Day with friends and family - that wasnt the case at one holiday gathering in Monroe. Police say a woman stabs her uncle in the head in front of several children. Neighbors who witnessed the attack, say it was so violent, that quote, only God saved him. And domestic violence experts say, while events like this arent that common, they happen far more often, than you may think. Monroe resident Frank Bradley spent years fighting overseas in Afghanistan. But his biggest battle yet, came this memorial day, when his niece, 20 year old Lakeya Alfrod allegedly stabbed him in the hand and head with a butcher knife, at the familys holiday celebration. A terrifying sight, some witnesses say they will never forget. Bradley, who had to get 18 staples in his head, and 14 stitches in his hand, says the stabbing happened while he was arguing with another family member. But says he still doesnt know why his niece stabbed him. And the niece, Lakeya Alford is still at large. If you know of her whereabouts, youre asked to call Crimestoppers at 318-388-cash.
