Move Over Truckers

18 Wheelers in the Right Lane Only. That could be the new Louisiana law if the bill passes. One international trucker says thats just one more thing to slow him down.
"I dont like laws that try to restrict things that dont need to be restricted," Don Minehart said. Others say they agree. Michelle Ross, an interstate driver said, "I just think its a waste of time really. If theyre asleep in the right one, theyre going to be asleep in the left one."
Ross continued, "If theyre asleep or tired they are going to do it in whatever lane." Yet some drivers think the right shift is the right idea. Buddy Allen, another driver said, "I think its a good deal because a lot of them will get over there and just hog the inside lane and stay right beside a car, and its not safe." Ross continued, "I think it would be a good idea for Louisiana."
One truck driver we spoke to said he drives in the right hand lane all the time just because hes a courteous driver, whether its a law or not.
"As a driver myself, I move over to let people through after I get done passing. I stay in the right hand lane," Rober White, a truck driver, said. He said, "I dont think they should make a law for us to have to ride in the right hand lane...thats what most of us do anyway."
Don Minehart, the trucker, says he plans to keep on rolling, safely though.
He said, "I dont think its unsafe to have trucks in any lane."
