Home Invasion Robbery

Police investigating a man shot in the back while fleeing a would be robber, an armed robbery, a double homicide, and now a home invasion. And thats just in the last 7 days. LaTonya Drayton, "I even leave the doors open you know, in the daytime and even at night". Thats how Latonya Drayton used to feel about her southern Monroe neighborhood. She says, "Ive been here two years, Ive never had a problem with anybody here". Imagine this scenario: youre home in bed, asleep, its 2 oclock in the morning. Three thieves kick open your door. They run through your kitchen, they come through your living room right through here. They approach one of the bedroom doors, its closed, they kick it open, see the damage right here? Theres no need to imagine, on Wednesday night it happened in this Monroe bedroom. The victim says the 3 men burst in, pointed a gun at her and stole several hundred dollars from her. LaTonya Drayton, "We just heard boom, bam, they running into the house". Latonya says the masked gunmen had an escape plan. She says they pulled the bulbs from several outside lights. She tells us, "They ran out the door, they ran around the building". Despite the terrifying experience Latonya Drayton is thankful her teenage daughters werent home.
