Monroe's Art District Expands

Louisiana state officials have approved the expansion of Monroe's art district.
The Riverside Cultural District will now include the Endom Bridge in Monroe and the area from 3rd Street along Washington Street and Desiard Street.
Officials from the Louisiana Office of Culture, Recreation and Tourism joined Monroe chamber and city officials to make the announcement Wednesday.
Collectors can get tax breaks when they buy in the Riverside Cultural District.
The expansion means more galleries can be included.
Officials say the primary goal of this initiative is to use cultural activity to revitalize the community.
