UPDATE: Missing Boater's Body Found

UPDATE: The search for a missing Monroe man is now over. Officials found his body Saturday morning in the Ouachita River.

Authorities say 64- year old Charles Thrascher's body  was found without  a flotation device about one mile south from where his boat was found.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement division agents and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office were searching the river since he was reported missing around 6 p.m. Thursday night.

Officials found Thrascher's boat Thursday about a half mile from the Forsythe boat launch.

The missing Monroe man's family say he never returned from his fishing trip.

The investigation is still ongoing.

OUACHITA PARISH -- Search and rescue crews are currently searching for a missing boater on the Ouachita River in Ouachita Parish.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Enforcement Division agents and Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for Charles Thrascher, 64, of Monroe, who was reported missing shortly after 6 p.m. on Sept. 20.

According to family, Thrasher never returned home yesterday from a fishing trip.  Authorities recovered Thrasher's 17-foot aluminum vessel in the Ouachita River near West Monroe Thursday night and searched throughout the night.

LDWF will have two sonar units on scene today to assist in the search.  LDWF will be the lead investigative agency for this boating incident.
