MONROE -- Investigators are figuring out what started a fire at an apartment complex in Monroe Wednesday afternoon.
Fire investigator Tommy James tells NBC 10 the call came in around noon. Fire fighters found smoke pouring out of one of the units at Hillco Apartments, located near the Monroe Regional Airport.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire into the bedroom where it started.
James says the unit had no working utilities at the time of the blaze. The apartment is mostly destroyed and is considered a loss. The unit below also has some water damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
