MONROE -- A job fair honoring Disability Employment Awareness Month took place Wednesday at the Monroe Civic Center.
Open to the public, the fair is also meant to honor those with disabilities to land jobs with employers that are looking to hire and grow.
Different industries including sales, customer service, and the medical field were represented.
"Everyone is struggling these days, it's not in the best that we would like it to be," said Georgette Wallace, Louisiana Workforce development officer. "So, everyone is in need of finding sustainable employment, that's why we're here today."
The Louisiana Workforce Commission even brought a mobile unit on-site to help candidates gain access to online applications.
The fair takes place in nine cities across the state.
