Two Arrested for Double Murder in Ouachita Parish

Two people have been arrested and charged for killing two brothers in June in Ouachita Parish.
Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office Investigators arrested Demetric Whitlock Rico Collins.
Both have been charged with two counts of second degree murder for the June 8, 2012 homicides of Dexter Burkhalter and Russell Atkins at 4541 Winnsborro Road in Monroe, Louisiana.
Two search warrants were executed in a collaborative effort by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, and the Shreveport Police Department at two separate residences on Melrose Street in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Demetric Whitlock and Rico Collins were transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center where they are each being held on a $2,000,000.00 bond.
