Superintendent Search Committee Meets; Accepting Applications

The Monroe City Schools Superintendent Search Committee is meeting again
this morning as the board begins accepting applications to find a new
superintendent.
The superintendent's job opening is now posted on the school district's website.
They're looking for someone certified in Louisiana, preferably with a PhD and central office experience.
The candidate will sign a one-year contract. Applications are due by December 17th.
Former superintendent Kathleen Harris was paid to quit this past August.

The Monroe City School District is seeking an exemplary leader to serve as the district's next Superintendent of Schools. Monroe City Schools serve approximately 8,700 students in 12 elementary schools, 3 Jr. High schools, 3 High schools, and 1 alternative school.
Qualifications:
- Louisiana Superintendent's Certification no later than July 1, 2013
- ED.D or Ph.D. (preferred)
- School District Central Office experience (preferred)
Application Deadline: December 14, 2012
Appointment: March 2013
Anticipated Start Date: No later than July 1, 2013
Salary: Highly Competitive and Negotiable
Length of Contract: Initial 1 year contract will be awarded
