Body of Missing Monroe Woman Found

MONROE, La. (AP) - Police have found the body of a 50-year-old
Monroe woman reported missing by her husband.
Police located the body of Linda C. Johnson late Monday night. Johnson was last seen by her husband at about 2 p.m. Sunday. Police say 50-year-old Harold W. Johnson was arrested for domestic abuse after police found the couple's bed soaked with blood and bloody linens in a trash bin near their apartment.
Police also found Linda Johnson's car abandoned in a parking lot a short distance from their apartment. Authorities say Harold Johnson ran from the scene and was later found by police in an abandoned house adjacent to their apartment complex.
During question, police say Johnson admitting he hit his wife during an argument. Police say Johnson asserted his right to an attorney and declined to give further statements.
