UNION PARISH -- Lake D'Arbonne is making progress on a couple of current projects.

Construction on the lake locks are about 80 percent complete.

The lake's board of commissioners says rains in October slowed the concrete pouring process.

A 90 day extension was given on the project and they hope to have that done by March.

Also, the board says the lake levels may remain low until January 15, 2013.

Land owners will have more time to do maintenance work and for workers to clear out invasive plants in the lake. When the lake levels are lowered, it's usually low until Thanksgiving, but the board expects that to be extended during an upcoming meeting in mid-November.
