Louisiana health leaders will officially ban a synthetic drug Friday.
The drug known as "Smiles" or "N-bomb" has been added to the controlled dangerous substance list. That means it's now illegal to possess, manufacture or distribute it in Louisiana.
Health officials say the drug is similar to bath salts making it very dangerous. The drug's been blamed for the deaths of several teenagers around the country.
