Tuesday's Child

Most of you would probably be shocked to find out that more than 400 children are currently in the foster care program in Northeast Louisiana. Even more upsetting, is that fewer than half of them will be reunited with their families. Unfortunately, many children are neglected right under our very own noses, every day.

Anthony and JaQualen are brothers caught in this foster care program. Anthony who is 11 and JaQualen, 8 stand beside each other through thick and thin. Having been through a lot together, they are now awaiting a mom and dad to adopt them together. Besides wanting someone to love them, their demands are small.  The boys both agree that having a dad to play football with would be, "awesome" and a mom to cook them pizza and chocolate chip cookies would be the icing on the cake!

A family would, without a doubt, be a dream of a lifetime for these two.  But, they would also love a pet dog.  Anthony would love a big dog while JaQualen prefers a smaller, more intimidating, Pitbull!

Beyond their dream of a "Home of Their Own" both would love athletic careers.  Anthony dreams of one day being a professional basketball player and JaQualen would love to be a football player.  Keeping these boys still is nearly impossible.  In addition to football and basketball, they love to swim, play video games, and ride their bikes.

If you are interested in giving these two loving boys a home of their own, call the Office of Community Services at: 318-362-3362.
