The Monroe City School Board says the superintendent search committee plans to reschedule a meeting that no one showed up for Monday.

Tuesday at the regularly scheduled meeting, board member Glynn Ludley criticized the committee for not being more prepared. The board had to send three agenda items back to the committee, because they were not ready to present them. Those include an outline for the evaluation of superintendent applicants. However, there are still no applicants for the job.

Board President Verbon Muhammad says he's not concerned since there is still a month until the application deadline.

"I think the applicants are going to come, we are just going to put together the structure and we're going to continue to move forward. We're going to set a new date and we're going to have a productive search committee, so I'm excited about it," says Muhammad.

The board did unanimously set a salary range for the next superintendent. It is 135-thousand to 150-thousand dollars depending on the person chosen for the job.
The next board meeting is scheduled for December fourth.
