Monroe City Engineer Sinyale Morrison Resigns

Mayor Jamie Mayo has accepted the resignation of City Engineer Sinyale Morrison, to pursue other interests, effective Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
Mrs. Morrison stated, "Working with the City of Monroe has been a rewarding experience...over the last thirteen (13) years. I have enjoyed working with the Engineering Department team, and wish them every success in the future."
Mayor Jamie Mayo comments, "We appreciate Mrs. Morrison for her years of service as City Engineer. We are thankful for the many successful projects completed during her tenure. We wish her well in her future endeavors."
Mayor Mayo met with the City of Monroe Engineering Department personnel early this morning to share the news with them, and explain how departmental operations will flow until a new City Engineer has been hired.
Professional Engineer Richard Paulus ,5-year city employee with 52 years of experience in the engineering field will serve as Acting City Engineer. He will be able to approve and sign off on any necessary plans and paperwork.
Arthur Holland, a 31-year city employee will continue serving as project manager and oversee the daily operations of the infrastructure program.
No time table has been set to name a new City Engineer.
