Busy Day at Monroe Regional Airport

Many people were hopping on flights out of Monroe Regional Airport to make it just in time for hot Thanksgiving dinners.
Flights are running on time today out of the airport to destinations across the U.S.
According to AAA it's estimated 43 million Americans are expected to travel today to visit loved ones for Thanksgiving -- making it one of the busiest travels days of the year.
Students from schools like Louisiana Tech and ULM are also heading home to spend time with their families this week.
"I'm going to Nebraska to spend Thanksgiving with family...I've had to miss Thanksgiving because of school and athletics, so to spend time with my family this thanksgiving feels pretty good."
AAA also says there's an almost one percent increase in Thanksgiving travel this year.
This marks the fourth consecutive year of growing holiday travelers since 2008.
The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined from today to Sunday.
