Morehouse Parish Murder Suspect Out of Jail on Bond

Update: The man charged with manslaughter in Morehouse Parish is now out of jail.
Todd Curtis of Bastrop was arrested Sunday after the death of 48-year-old David Hale.
Investigators say Hale and Chad Jones confronted Curtis through a car window - one of the men eventually hitting Curtis in the face. They say Curtis was dating Jones' estranged wife.
Curtis told police he feared for his life and shot Hale once.
Curtis left the scene and called the sheriff's office.
Update: Bond has been set at $20,000 for the man accused of shooting and killing a Morehouse Parish man.
MOREHOUSE PARISH -- A suspect is in custody after the weekend shooting that left a man dead.
Robert Curtis, 43, is currently in custody at the Morehouse Parish jail.

MOREHOUSE PARISH -- A suspect is in custody after the weekend shooting that left a man dead.
Robert Curtis, 43, is currently in custody at the Morehouse Parish jail.
Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs tells us David Hale, 48, was shot and killed in the shooting that happened around 3 p.m. on Crossett Rd. and Milton White Rd. Deputies found Hale dead on the scene when they arrived.
Sheriff Tubbs says Curtis called 911 shortly after the shooting and turned himself in. So far, Tubbs says the suspect is cooperating with police. There are three people involved in this case, all of whom know each other.
Police are not releasing any details into the shooting at this time.
According to the affidavit Hale was a passenger in a truck that stopped Curtis.
Hale and another got out and confronted Curtis at his car window first trying to get him out and then striking Curtis in the face through the window.
Hale was the friend of Chad Jones who was driving the truck and is the estranged husband of the woman Curtis is allegedly seeing.
Curtis said he was in fear for his life and he shot Hale once, who was trying to force his window down to get him out of his car.
Curtis left the scene and called the Sheriff's office. He is being held at the Morehouse Parish Jail. He does not have criminal background.
The investigation is still on-going.
