Tyrann Mathieu to Enter the NLF Draft

Despite a rocky year due to drug related issues, Tyrann Mathieu is deciding to skip his senior year of college and enter the NFL draft.

Mathieu has decided to go pro instead of trying to regain a spot with the Tigers for his senior year.

"I want to thank LSU and the fans for all that they have done for me but now it's time for me to move on to a next chapter and go to the NFL," he tweeted.

In the two seasons Mathieu played defense for LSU, he made 113 tackles and four interceptions. He returned two punts for touchdowns and was a consensus All-American his sophomore year.

Issues related to drug use, however, have made for a complicated career for the former Heisman trophy finalist.

Mathieu was suspended before the beginning of this season after repeatedly failing drug tests. Rather than transferring, Mathieu remained at LSU with the hopes of returning to the team next year. However, Mathieu was arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department on Oct. 25 for Simple Possession of Marijuana.
