It's an Olympic edition of Behind The Kitchen Door this week. I got bronze, silver and gold medals to hand out. Going to kick it off with the Eastern Chinese restaurant in West Monroe. They were inspected back in May on the fourteenth. Health inspectors found 9 total violations. One of them was critical. The critical violation was food contact surfaces not being clean to sight and touch...it was a dirty can opener. One of their non-critical violations was for food not being covered in chest freezers. So with 9 total violations Eastern Chinese restaurant gets the bronze medal with 2 and a half out of five forks.
Our next stop on the Olympic edition of Behind The Kitchen Door is McAlister's Deli of West Monroe. They were last inspected back on May 12th. They had 4 violations. All of them non-critical. One of the non-critical was for the front doors need to be protected better against the entry of insects or rodents. But the roast beef in the reach-in cooler was at 40 degrees...that's good! And cheese bisque in the warmer at 164 degrees...that's good too! So McAlister's gets the silver medal and 4 out of five forks.
Our last stop is the Gold medal winner this week! It's Arby's on Louisville in Monroe. They were inspected last on June 10th. They had just three violations. All of them non-critical. One was for some ice build-up in the walk-in freezer and some cups not being stored 6 inches above the floor. They corrected that violation. So Arby's with just 3 little violations gets the Gold medal and 4 and a half out of five forks.
