School officials from the Dermott School District met with the Arkansas State Board of Education in Little Rock where they learned that they met all of the requirements to be removed from the fiscal distress list.
The decision means that the school district takes back full control of their finances and no longer has to have their financial decisions approved by the state first.
The board came to a unanimous decision. The Strong-Huttig School District was also removed from the fiscal distress list.
