ULM Gives To Salvation Army Angel Tree

Updated: December 11, 2012
MONROE -- As a way to give back to the community, the University of Louisiana at Monroe housed a Salvation Army Angel Tree in the University Library this fall. ULM students, faculty, and staff adopted 50 Angels for the holiday season.

Participants provided wish list items for adopted Angels including toys, clothes, and coats for local children.

As of Dec. 11, all of the university's Angels have been adopted.

According to the Salvation Army, the Angel Tree gives individuals and partnering corporations an opportunity to adopt less fortunate children and senior citizens and provide personalized gifts and necessities to those who would otherwise receive very little or nothing during the holiday season.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree project ends Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The ULM Office of Public Information organized the initiative with the support of Library Dean Don Smith, and Executive Vice President, Stephen Richters.
