Tax & Healthcare Seminar

Lots of changes are coming this New Year with federal income taxes and health care - so a local seminar is helping local businesses prepare.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce hosted a tax and healthcare workshop Tuesday morning at the Monroe Civic Center.
The seminar helped inform members and other attendees on current healthcare and federal tax concerns, including the year-end fiscal cliff and other changes that will affect local businesses.
"We are trying to give a little bit of clarity.....some of it will depend on the action congress takes."
Tim Green with the Chamber of Commerce also adds that health care is one of the biggest costs for a business.
The workshop helped people on their end of the year tax planning and what to consider in 2013 as Obama care is implemented.
