The Louisiana Community and Technical College Board of Supervisors and System President Dr. Joe May announced their decision to postpone the appointment of the next chancellor at Louisiana Delta Community College.
The appointments, which were tentatively scheduled for today, will take place during a Special Meeting of the Board. The date and time have yet to be determined.
"After deliberating with our colleagues in executive session this morning and after a series of interviews and careful review of the qualifications and character of the finalists, it became clear that we need more time to select the absolute best person to lead these colleges moving forward," said Edwards Barham and Paul Price, Jr., members of the LCTCS Board of Supervisors and Search Committee Co-Chairmen, in a joint statement.
"We have unique and well-qualified finalists vying for each of these positions," said May. "Each candidate brings a wealth of experience and would serve the college and community well as the next chancellor. In the interest of selecting the best person for these roles, postponing our decision at this time is the right thing to do for each institution."
Each finalist has been notified of the postponement and remains under consideration for the position.
The finalists, in alphabetical order, for LDCC are Dr. Rodney Ellis, Dr. Barbara Hanson, and Dr. Jerry Ryan.
