UPDATE: Police Say 15-year-old Student Made Threats on WMHS

Ouachita Parish Superintendent Dr. Bob Weber said there were 8-10 extra deputies on campus at West Monroe High School this morning.
Deputies from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's office were also dispatched to all the schools in the district as a precaution.

On Sunday, December 16th at approximately 10:00pm the West Monroe Police Department began investigating a complaint that a juvenile student of West Monroe High School had made threats to harm students at West Monroe High School.
Through their investigation officers were able to promptly identify and locate the suspect who is a 15 year old student of West Monroe High School. The student was taken into custody and interviewed by officers. He was later transported to the Green Oaks Detention Center and charged with Terrorizing.
Investigators determined that the juvenile had not yet made any preparations to carry out his intended threat.
Since this incident involves a juvenile, we will be unable to release any names of the parties involved or any additional information, please refer all additional requests for information to the Ouachita Parish

We have to put metal detectors in these schools. I was just saying I can't believer anything hasn't happen at WMHS as big as it is. Our officers at these schools are very helpful, but we need more. Scared to death for our school children!
