Downsville Man Charged with Molestation of a Juvenile

A 35-year-old Downsville man has been booked into the Union Parish Detention Center accused of molestation of a juvenile.
Larry Wayne Lewis Jr., 1162 Garland Gin Rd., was arrested Dec. 13 after being notified that Child Protective Services were conducting an investigation.
An affidavit stated that the 14-year-old victim told investigators that she and Lewis started having sex around Thanksgiving. Lewis was the boyfriend of the victim's mother. The mother told deputies that she has an alcohol problem and often passes out.
The victim told investigators that she wanted to have sex with Lewis and that the incidents occurred between midnight and 4 a.m. while her mother was sleeping.
Lewis is being held in the detention center on a $75,000 bond.
